We want to take down bureaucratic science barriers around the world.
Open-Sci is a De-Sci concept for replacing prestige monopolies with open research funding, transparent review, and public scientific coordination. Need the treasury version? Need the wider reading room?
The science system as it is now, does not work.
Scientists work 80 hour weeks or more, and get paid very little.
Doctors and scientists are contacted to review scientific works, for the sake of “prestige” and furthering science. The academic journals that copyright the work, get all the money.
Today, the primary structure of research rewards monopolies. Scientists labor in labs, publish work they do not receive royalties from, and reviewers rarely get paid for defending quality.
Journals largely sell prestige and scarcity while access stays expensive. This is a dystopian ideal of prestige over knowledge. We can fix this: fund well framed scientific questions in public and release support when real evidence appears.
